I must say, this is the worst I have read, similar to my life, except, it also relayed back to my homelife. I didn't have a family to turn to as a child either, and it is horrible this kind of thing happens to a child, children don't go to school to learn how to deal with bullies!

Wow, how empowering for you to write that! I work with small children in Kindy and also with school aged children in before and after school care. I have seen the devastating effects of bullying on children as young as three. It is such a terrible feeling now having my own children not knowing what is going to happen to them during thier school life to the point that I want to home school them. I feel grateful to you for sharing this with us and helping to make the world a better place. It is also most important for the parents of the children doing the bullying to be made aware and also for thier beaviours to be monitored, What is going on in thier family/personal lives to create such behaviour, though not always the case, they could also be crying out for help. I do not know how to change these social behaviours but hope that I raise two children that are as beautiful and courageous as you.

I'm SO sorry to hear that - I know how heartbreaking that must have been to hear and I hope he's okay. Keep pushing with the school, sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right person. I'm so glad your son has an open dialogue with you, and you're proving that worthwhile by going straight to the Principal. Perhaps you can contact some of the other parents - they'd be just as concerned that this can happen. Big hugs to you and your lad. He'll be okay with his awesome family on his side. :)

My son is repeatedly bullied at the school he is in and this morning was urinated on outside of the toilet block. He told me when I got home. The school is apparently aware and did not contact me to bring him home to shower him. I rang the school and I am still waiting their call. They are busy, i think they know that things have now gone too far, my son has tourettes. I think a call to the media is in order

MMMM... Chocolate bullets!! But seriously, kudos to you and your beautiful writing and ability to soldier on. I know how hard it may seem to be, but thank you for everything. Your humour and musicality is such an inspiration. Some of us seem to lead a life of quiet desperation. With people like you, we are not alone. x
